Mr. A V P Varma has been a very dynamic entrepreneur and started his journey into the business in 1998 having been enriched with qualities of life and business ethics with two Sri Vijayalakshmi Cement Works& Sri Vijayalakshmi Roadlines. Since then he has been in this business and achieved many more laurels in his endeavours to take these concerns into Private Limited Companies in a period of 2 decades with a turnover of Rs 2000 Million ($30 Million) in 16-17 and aiming at achieving target of Rs 2850 Million ($44 Million) in 17-18 and contributing national exchequer to the tune of Rs 98 Million per annum by way of VAT, Service Tax, Road Tax, cess on diesel and Income Tax. These 2 entities have been in the fore front of implementing e-commerce, e-payments like fast tag system in making toll taxes in line with our national & state policies, having transparency in business, following business values and giving priority to women employment also parallelly.
Initially, we have been in Trading Activity under name of Sri Vijayalakshmi Cement Works. In 2016 Sri Vijayalakshmi Cement Works emerged as a Private Limited Company by name Varma Steels Pvt Ltd with corporate office located at Madhapur, Hyderabad and have 8 branch offices spread over 3 states AP, Telangana & Maharashtra. We have been a major dealer in Cement with Sale Quantity of 2 lakhs Tons per annum and Steel of 10 thousand Ton per annum, a C & F Agent to the “The India Cements Ltd”, south India biggest cement company for the last 20 years. Our main activities have been purchasing of cement under renowned brands of Raasi Gold, Raasi Super and Coromandel from the The India Cements Ltd. Subsequently we have taken dealership for Zuari Cement Ltd, Deccan Cements Ltd, The Ramco Cement Ltd and selling across Andhra Pradesh and now in Telangana State also with dealer network of 150 members and customer base 4,000 overall. Out of which 2,000 customers very active throughout the year. For the last 20 years our endeavours resulted in achieving of Sales Turnover progressively by year after year and achieved Rs 1100 Millions in 16-17 and aiming at to reach the target of Rs 1500 Millions Turnover in 17-18 from this organisation.
We have been contributing to national exchequer under various heads of VAT Rs 74 Millions, Income Tax Rs 10 Millions and providing employment of directly and indirectly for 1100 people including working with dealers under this company .
Another leading business concern is Varma Supply Chain Pvt LTD which has been in the Logistic Business since 2003. We have our own fleet of 150 Nos and dedicated fleet of 500 trucks and a fleet of 100 tankers for moving bulk cement engaged in the logistic business with The India Cements Ltd, the South Indian biggest cement company and Deccan Cements Ltd. We transport raw materials, coal, pet coke and finished products in packed cement and loose cement to various customers having a base 4,000 numbers located in 5 States (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Orissa & Chhattisgarh). We have achieved a turnover of Rs 900 Million in 16-17 and aiming at to achieve Rs 1350 Millions Turnover in 17-18.
We have been contributing to national exchequer under various heads of Taxes Rs 150 Million and providing employment of directly and indirectly for 1300 people including working with contractors and sub-contractors.
We have 2 more sister concerns V Group Constructions and Vagmi Group engaged in the activity of construction of townships with residential buildings and commercial complexes.
Now as a part of our business expansion, we intend to float a Non Banking Finance Company (NBFC) to finance our own 2,000 active customers/debtors all the time. These customers are having dues of Rs 100 to 150 Million per month throughout the year to us from business of purchasing steel & cement. NBFC will ease our customers by providing credit facility at one door step to save time in searching a lending party for financing their activities. By having NBFC we can serve customers at affordable interest rates and improve our business as well at much faster rate while helping our customers with out any hassles in having their own commercial shops or residential buildings.
In next 5 years We are having ambitious business plans of achieving a turnover of Rs 10,000 Million ($153 Million) from both the companies by expanding our business with dealer’s network, with our own brand of steel, building construction material and also expanding logistic business from cement to other industries also.
